2010 NFL Picks | Week 15 Writer Picks
There are just three weeks remaining in the 2010 NFL season, which means the heat is on in our writer’s race to take the crown for weekly NFL picks for the season.
Keet Bailey used a strong Week 14 to take over first place, while Chris Powell sits just two picks behind him. Taylor Smith and Kevin Roberts are still alive in the chase, but stellar weeks will be needed by the third and fourth ranked writers to make a serious run at the season title at NFL Soup.
Read on to see the matchups, picks, and comments for Week 15, and don’t forget about our great book giveaway! We’ve given away two books already this year, one off of our weekly radio show, and another off of our NFL Picks challenge.

Breakdown:Chris: San Diego is clearly the better team in this battle of California. Kevin: The 49ers are still in the hunt for their division, but they don’t really stand a chance here. Taylor: The Chargers will continue to roll towards what seems like another inevitable division crown. Keet: There’s no reason why San Diego should lose a must win game here. |

Breakdown:Chris: Neither team is that good, but someone has to win. Kevin: Miami’s defense is playing well, and as long as Chad Henne doesn’t give this game away, Dolphins win. Taylor: Henne is regressing at an alarming rate, but that defense should be able to hold the Bills in check. Keet: Miami should continue to shut down the run, and win a close game. |

Breakdown:Chris: Tampa Bay has to keep winning to have a chance at a playoff berth. Kevin: Detroit is high off of a big win against the Packers, and they’ll look to end the season on a high note. Taylor: The Bucs beat bad teams, and I’d say the Lions certainly qualify as such. Keet: I’m taking Detroit in a small upset. Tampa Bay is hurting losing Gerald McCoy and Quincy Black as well as a few others the rest of the season defensively. |

Breakdown:Chris: Carolina sucks. Kevin: I can’t believe I’m picking the Cardinals. Taylor: The Cardinals could finish 6-10 and in second place in their division. Score one for franchise instability! Keet: The Cards won’t repeat their fluke Week 14 performance. Give me Jon Stewart and Mike Goodson FTW. |

Breakdown:Chris: New Orleans is starting to look scary good again. Kevin: The Saints might still be the better team, but Baltimore is at home and should play better than last week. Taylor: The Ravens’ defense as a whole was exposed in a major way against Houston, and the Saints will certainly use this to their advantage. Keet: I’ll take Drew Brees and the Saints over a struggling Baltimore secondary. |

Breakdown:Chris: Indy looked pretty good last week, and they have to win this week to have a chance to make the playoffs. Kevin: Jacksonville isn’t sweeping the Colts. Taylor: I’d love for the Jags to win this one and take the division by the throat, but I can’t see it happening in Peyton’s house. Keet: There’s no reason for Peyton to lose any games from here on out. |

Breakdown:Chris: Goin with my gut on this one. Kevin: Philly just lost two key defensive players, and I don’t think the Eagles can complete a season sweep on the road. Taylor: If the Eagles can somehow stop the suddenly dominant Giants’ ground attack, they’ll take this one. Keet: I want to pick Philly, but I think New York uses that home field advantage to their favor. |

Breakdown:Chris: Cleveland… but only because someone has to win. Kevin: I still like Cleveland, but Cincinnati has to win again this season, and this should be the week. Taylor: I think I’d rather watch ARZ-CAR than this stinkfest, but I’ll take the Browns, assuming Colt starts. Keet: Colt McCoy could start, giving the Browns a better chance to win. But the Browns always find a way to blow petty games. |

Breakdown:Chris: If history has shown us anything it’s that the Texans are best in December, it’s unfortunate for them that the season starts in September. Kevin: Houston could come out absolutely deflated, but I think they have more fight than that. Taylor: The Texans are the best bad team in the league, while the Titans are just bad. Keet: Houston has to win one of these games, right? |

Breakdown:Chris: My five year old daughter and her friends could beat the Redskins. Kevin: The season gets worse for Washington, especially if Rex Grossman is the starter. Taylor: The Cowboys are actually a good team these days, while the Redskins continue to outdo themselves in terms of sheer awfulness. Keet: I said I’d never pick Dallas the rest of the year, but I definitely can’t pick Washington. |

Breakdown:Chris: Without Cassel the Rams can throw 10 in the box and not have to worry. Kevin: Matt Cassel should be back, and while the Rams are decent, KC should take care of business. Taylor: I’m telling you. The Rams are playoff-bound. Shock the world! Keet: Cassel is preparing to play. If he doesn’t, this pick is sure in trouble. |

Breakdown:Chris: It’s truly sad that the Seahawks still have a chance to make the playoffs. Kevin: Seattle can’t beat elite teams. They beat the Bears, but come on, this is the Falcons we’re talking about. Taylor: The Seahawks are better at home, but they’re still atrocious most of the time. Make sense? Good. Falcons 12-2. Keet: Atlanta FTW. |

Breakdown:Chris: J-E-T-S! Frauds. Frauds! FRAUDS! Kevin: The Jets have been exposed, and it’ll be awfully tough for them to put it all together on the road against the Steelers. Taylor: Let me know when the Jets score a touchdown again. Keet: Pittsburgh needs to keep winning to take the division. |

Breakdown:Chris: It’s hard to think that Rodgers will be 100%, which means another cakewalk for New England. Kevin: Green Bay is about to fall fast, while the Patriots simply can’t be stopped. Taylor: Is it crazy to think that this Patriots team would stack up well against the ’07 version? Keet: Even if Rodgers was playing, I couldn’t pick against a HOT New England team here. |

Breakdown:Chris: Minnesota just can’t get anything going at all. Kevin: If Favre somehow returns to play, I actually like the Vikings. But that’s not looking too likely. Taylor: Who’s playing quarterback for the Vikings this week? Brian Griese? Jake Plummer? Randall Cunningham? Hopefully it’s Jeff George. Keet: Minnesota just can’t get things done, and there’s no such thing as playing “at home” for the rest of the year for them. |
