2010 NFL Playoff Picks: Divisional Round Writer Picks

2010 NFL Playoffs

Our regular season NFL picks winner (Keet Bailey) kept his pick momentum going, taking a 3-1 record into the Divisional Round of the 2010 NFL Playoffs.

2010 NFL Playoffs

Can Matt Hasselbeck and Seattle keep the dream alive?

All four of our top writers are back for another round of the playoffs to see if they can’t off-set the ridiculousness that has become the unpredictable playoffs so far.

We only had one game so far (Ravens vs Chiefs) where the game wasn’t seriously in question down to the final few minutes, making this already one of the best NFL Playoffs in recent memory. We’ll do our part in picking the eventual winners, while you can sit back and enjoy another round of fantastic NFL matchups!

Breakdown:

Chris: Baltimore was firing on all cylinders today, and if they play that well this week, I expect them to find themselves in the AFC Championship.

Kevin: This is going to be a battle. When it comes to two elite defensive-minded teams, I’ll go with who is playing at home.

Taylor: The Ravens were one Troy Polamalu away from going 2-0 against the Steelers this season. I like them to ride their momentum.

Keet: Pittsburgh is the better overall team. This will be a smash mouth game, and Pitt will take it. .

Breakdown:

Chris: These two teams have had rather impressive seasons, and had Green Bay not faced as many injuries I think they could have ended up on top here, but right now Atlanta is healthy, rested, and damn good.

Kevin: This might be there year of the Atlanta Falcons, but then again, something tells me it could be the year of the Packers.

Taylor: The Pack was impressive Sunday in Philly, but you don’t beat Matt Ryan at home.

Keet: I’m going against Matt Ryan at home. The Falcons had a cupcake schedule, and the Packers have momentum.

Breakdown:

Chris: Seattle won’t get lucky two weeks in a row. Having to leave the cozy confines of Quest Field to go to the frigid Soldier Field isn’t going to be easy for the mediocre Seahawks.

Kevin: Chicago has blown a division title and first round playoff bye before. Besides, Seattle does know how to beat this team.

Taylor: Man, I’d love to pick the Seahawks here. They did beat the Bears at Soldier Field earlier this year, but I can’t see it happening again.

Keet: The stars won’t align for the ‘Hawks this week. While Chicago is overrated, Cutler should have a field day.

Breakdown:

Chris: I don’t know that it’ll be 45-3 this go around, but the Patriots are very hard to beat at home, and with a week off for people to get healthy, I think it would be silly to pick the Jets.

Kevin: The Jets barely got by a pretty average Colts team. New England is prepared to dish out another 45-3 drubbing.

Taylor: FYI, I’m not picking against the Patriots again.

Keet: I just can’t go against the Patriots in this one. Mark Sanchez should fall on his face.
