2012 NFL Scouting Combine Day 2 Notes

Day two of the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine is wrapping up with the offensive line, tight ends, and special teams players getting measured and weighed in.
Day one was a boring day with nothing going on from a fan perspective, so there is almost nothing to report, and the drills for the players do not start until Saturday.
Of course, even with the measurements, you can learn a bit about a prospect and where he stands heading into the drills.
Here are some notes from Day Two of the 2012 NFL Combine:
- Ohio State’s Mike Adams has exceptional size at 6’7 323 pounds. He came in with 34 inch arms and huge 10 7/8 paws.
- Unlike last year with Tyron Smith and Ben Ijalana, there are zero offensive lineman with 36 inch arms. The closest were Georgia’s Cordy Glenn (35 3/4), Wisconsin’s Josh Oglesby (35 5/8), and UAB’s Matt McCants (35 3/8).
- Troy’s James Brown came in a bit shorter than expected at 6’3, and a solid 306. I still believe he fits better as a guard, and still has long arms at 34 1/2 inches with 10 1/4 inch hands.
- Cordy Glenn of Georgia looks massive at 6’5 345, with 10 1/8 inch hands and a huge 35 3/4 arm length.
- Wisconsin’s Josh Oglesby has monster hands at 11 1/4 inch, to go with his 6’7 338 pound frame.
- Bobby Massie of Ole Miss showed some small hands at 9 inches, but his 6’6 316 pound frame with 35 inch arms is certainly intriguing.
- Zebrie Sanders from Florida State is massive, coming in at 6’6 320 pounds, and 35 inch arms. He also had huge hands at 10 7/8.
- Brandon Washington of Miami (Fl.) looks more fit to play guard at 6’3 320, and 33 inch arms.
- Rishaw Johnson of Cal (PA) is a fringe Top 100 guard, weighing in at 313 pounds and having 6’3 height. Perhaps the most impressive is his huge 10 1/4 inch hands with 35 1/4 inch arms.
- Wisconsin’s Peter Konz is a big guy at 6’5 314. I figured he was closer to 6’3 1/2, but he’s taller than expected.
- David Molk of Michigan helped himself coming in at an impressive 298 pounds with a 6’1 height. His small 8 7/8 inch hands aren’t exciting, nor are his 32 inch arms, but his technique helps him.
- Out of all the tight ends, Missouri’s Michael Egnew looks the part standing at 6’5 and 252 pounds. He has good size hands also at 9 3/4 inch.
- Stanford’s Coby Fleener won’t be working out, but his measurements were solid. He stands 6’6 and 247 pounds with 10 inch hands for the third biggest hands at tight end.
- Georgia’s Orson Charles came in a bit shorter than expected at 6’2, but his 251 pounds is deceiving as he carries it well.
- Both Coby Fleener and La. Lafayette’s LaDarius Green will likely be asked to bulk up a bit, especially Green who sits at 6’6 237.
