A New Era in Jacksonville: Gus Bradley Hired As Jaguars Head Coach

NFL: Cincinnati Bengals at Seattle Seahawks

The man behind the Seattle Seahawks’ fourth-overall ranked defense in 2012—defensive coordinator Gus Bradley—will be across the country in Jacksonville in 2013 coaching the Jaguars.

According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports and Adam Schefter of ESPN, via Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com, the Jaguars have hired Bradley as their next head coach. Bradley previously was the linebackers coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2007-2008, before being the defensive coordinator for the Seahawks over the last four seasons.

Though Bradley is a defensive-minded coach, a side of the ball the Jaguars certainly need help with, his first priority in Jacksonville will be the offense, says Marc Sessler of NFL.com.

In a division where the Houston Texans dominate and the Indianapolis Colts are only going to get better, Bradley could certainly make the Jaguars a contender sooner than people think.
