Andre Johnson to Miss a Week With Groin Strain

Power Rankings

Houston Texans star wide receiver Andre Johnson was injured during training camp. ESPN.com is reporting that “Johnson was running a route, stretched out for the ball and hit the ground pretty hard”. He had an MRI that revealed a mild strain.

Johnson said: ” It just tightened up on me”. It’s expected that Johnson will miss about a week or so.

Johnson is no stranger to injuries. He had an ankle injury and missed three games in 2010 and missed nine games last season due to hamstring injuries. The guy is a monster when he’s healthy but has been susceptible to the injury report the past few seasons.

One of my most recent articles, ” 10 guys I won’t draft” has him listed for just this reason. I don’t like drafting guys with injury history or ones that have a knack for the injury report. Don’t get me wrong, when he’s healthy he’s a stud. But when a WR1 has injury questions I choose caution and durability.

Fantasy Analysis

This really shouldn’t be that big a deal. Like the report says, it should only be a week or so. But remember, don’t say I didn’t warn you if you draft him and he gets injured for four weeks. This just might be a forewarning!
