Arizona Cardinals vs. St. Louis Rams: Preview and Pick
Who would of thought that after four weeks of the 2012 season that the Arizona Cardinals would be one of the three undefeated teams left in the NFL, not I. The Arizona Cardinals (4-0) will get their shot to be the first team to five wins tonight, as they travel to Edward James stadium to take on the new look St. Louis Rams (2-2).
The Cardinals opened as a 3 point favorite tonight, but since then have been bet down to a 2 point favorite.
Let’s take a look at our Pick Against the Spread for Thursday Night Football. Home teams in ALL CAPS with lines courtesy of betus.com, with additional stats via bangthebook.com:
Arizona -2 over ST. LOUIS
If Arizona would have won more convincing last week against the Miami Dolphins then I think this line would have been more closer to 3 1/2 to 4 points, but since it took them overtime to beat Miami, I believe Vegas set the spread lower.
With Steven Jackson (groin) banged up and the Arizona run defense being so stingy, I expect the Rams having to throw the ball a lot and I’m not so confident in Sam Bradford being able to lead a group of average receivers down the field consistently.
Arizona is 17-8 against the spread versus St. Louis since 1992.
I like the Cards to cover the spread, and win the game 23-17.
