Bills’ Owner Won’t Rule Out a Lee Evans Trade
According to Ross Tucker via Twitter, Buffalo Bills owner Buddy Nix said he would not rule out a trade involving veteran wide receiver, Lee Evans.
Evans has been the subject of trade rumors for weeks now, and had previously been tied to both the Baltimore Ravens and the Arizona Cardinals. The Ravens have since dropped out of the running, opting to go with younger, faster talent at the position.
Still recovering from knee surgery, Evans should be ready for the 2011 season.
When a team’s owner basically comes out and says the team is open to something, that means it’s likely already being discussed heavily. Evans is 30 and coming off of two down years, and is due more money than the Bills probably think he’s worth at this point. Arizona could be a prime target, while the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, and Carolina Panthers could all stand to upgrade at wide receiver.
