Chicago’s Matt Forte Looking at Rough 2010?
The Chicago Tribune reports that Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte averaged 4.5 yards per carry on 132 carries out of the I-formation in 2009, while averaging just 2.7 yards per carry in one-back sets.
These numbers clearly show Forte’s success while running behind a lead-blocker (fullback), opposed to taking the ball by himself behind the line of scrimmage.
Fantasy Dish: Considering new offensive coordinator Mike Martz has pretty much eliminated the fullback position, this could be some unsettling news for fantasy football owners looking for Forte to have a bounce-back season.
With the shifty Chester Taylor in town, this news combines to drop Forte’s fantasy draft stock at least slightly.
