Christian Ponder to Remain Vikings Starter

According to the Star-Tribune, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder will remain the team’s starting quarterback despite being benched in a week 14 loss.

Ponder threw three interceptions and lost a fumble before being pulled in favor of backup Joe Webb in the third quarter. Webb led Minnesota back from a 31-14 deficit before losing to the Detroit Lions, 34-28.

Fantasy Analysis

As we’ve said before, Ponder is a rookie with a careless arm, so picks and turnovers in general are to be expected. However, he looks down the field and can run the ball, and already has a nice connection with Percy Harvin. When/if Adrian Peterson returns, Ponder should be a little more at ease. For now, he’s still a capable QB2.
