Ravens vs. Browns TNF Preview and Pick
Hey good news everyone, especially for you Green Bay Packer fans, the regular NFL referees are back starting tonight for Thursday Night Football. Usually the regular set of referees have the entire preseason, much like the players, to work on their craft and knock off the rust, but now they’re getting thrown right into the fire. Don’t expect a flawless game from them, as they have always been one of the more heavily scrutinized officials in all pro sports.
Now on to the actual game, the Cleveland Browns (0-3) will take a short trip East to take on the Baltimore Ravens (2-1) at M&T Bank Stadium. Cleveland will once again be without their top defensive back Joe Haden, who was suspended four games after failing a drug test during the preseason. Joe Flacco must be licking his lips as he looks at the Browns secondary before the snap.

Cleveland +12 over BALTIMORE
If you’re on the ledge about betting on this game, I’ve got three words for you; Don’t Do It. The Ravens opened the game as twelve point favorites and the line has not moved since, despite having 67% of all public bets coming in on Baltimore so that tells me one thing, the sharps in Las Vegas are putting big money down on Cleveland tonight.
Early in the week I was leaning towards the Ravens minus the points, but I was not totally sold on them and after seeing one alarming stat/number it made me think twice. This will be the Ravens 4th game in 18 days. Yes I know it’s still early in the year and most teams are their healthiest during the first few weeks, but 4 games in 18 days concerns me a little bit, especially coming off a hard fought game against the Patriots on Sunday night.
I’ve mentioned this before and I’ll mention it again, I am not a Joe Flacco believer. Sure he has looked good in two of three games this season, but he still makes too many mistakes for me to trust him week after week. I am not Wacko for Flacco as they say.
Look for Trent Richardson to be the difference maker in tonight’s game. Baltimore has an aging defense, and without Terrell Suggs they have been susceptible to the run so far this season, giving up and average of 112 rushing yards per game.
Prediction:
The road team in this match-up is 5-0 against the spread over the past five games. I like the Ravens in a close one tonight, 23-20, but give me the 12 points.
