Donald Driver Joins Dancing With the Stars

Donald Driver is facing an uncertain future as a member of the Green Bay Packers. At 37, Driver’s days are numbered in Green Bay, let alone professional football. Still, Driver has stated he desires to continue playing, would like to stay in Green Bay, and would even like to play until he’s 40.

We can’t be sure what the future holds for his football prospects. However, luckily for Driver, he won’t be leaving the television spotlight anytime soon.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Driver has joined the newest cast of Dancing With the Stars and will be the latest NFL player to try their luck at the popular dance contest. Driver follows other famous NFL players, Hines Ward and Emmitt Smith.

In an interview with OnTheRedCarpet.com, Driver touched on his dancing debut, ”When you’re playing (football) in front of 70,000 people, you’re a little bit nervous,” he said. “There’s going to be millions and millions of people watching this, so it’s a little bit different. But I think we’re going to be fine.”

As a nimble and athletic NFL wide receiver, Driver figures to have a solid chance at going far in the competition. Packers fans just need to cross their fingers (as does Driver), that he doesn’t take a spill that results in an injury.

The rest of the season 14 DWTS cast is as follows: Jack Wagner, Melissa Gilbert, William Levy, Sherri Shepherd, Katherine Jenkins, Gavin DeGraw, Martina Navratilova, Roshon Fegan, Maria Menounos, Jaleel White, and Gladys Knight.

I know as sports fans we should be most excited to see how Driver fares, but I can’t help but cheer for Jaleel White (Steve Urkel).
