Hakeem Nicks Doubtful For Sunday Night Football
The New York Giants are likely going to be without wide receiver Hakeem Nicks for yet another week.
According to Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com, the Giants have listed Nicks as doubtful on the team’s injury report for Sunday night’s game versus the Eagles. The injury to his foot suffered against the Buccaneers in Week 2 is still causing him troubles, and now his knee is reportedly swelling as well.
Nicks also missed last Thursday’s victory against the Panthers.
With Nicks out for another game, the Eagles will likely focus on trying to make Victor Cruz a non-factor. Wideouts Domenik Hixon and Ramses Barden are expected to be the next two guys in line to take Hicks’ place. Though the Eagles defense ranks third in the league against the pass, they rank 17th in stopping the run. Strong running from Ahmad Bradshaw and Andre Brown could open up the play action game for Eli Manning. Hixon or Barden may not be a bad choice to roll with if you need someone to fill in for this Sunday.
