Hard Knocks: Dolphins Latest to Get NFL Spotlight

There has been a lot of change in the Miami Dolphins‘ organization in the past few months. Joe Philbin became the new head coach. Mike Sherman took over the offense. And the team drafted a potential franchise quarterback in Ryan Tannehill.
But that wasn’t enough for these new-look Dolphins.
According to reports, the Dolphins will also be joining HBO’s Hard Knocks, in a move that is being regarded as a “football decision”.
Perhaps Miami was rolling with recent history, as the past two NFL teams to appear on the series ended up making the playoffs that same year.
Miami faces an uphill battle to do that, though, as they still don’t know who their starting quarterback is going to be for 2012, while they lost a huge part of their offense when the traded away star wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the Chicago Bears this off-season.
The Baltimore Ravens were the first team to be profiled in the HBO series back in 2011, as the show covered their bid to repeat as Super Bowl champions. The Dallas Cowboys followed in 2002 and picked up again in 2007 with the Kansas City Chiefs, followed by the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals in 2008 and 2009.
The New York Jets were easily the loudest and most well-known team that has appeared in the series, and they were also the last team to be filmed (in 2010), due to the lockout in 2011.
Miami starts the series back up, and should be an interesting watch with a three-headed quarterback race involving rookie Ryan Tannehill and veterans Matt Moore and David Garrard.
