John Beck Latches on With Texans
The Houston Texans have signed John Beck, the 30-year-old Brigham Young quarterback who has totaled 1,417 passing yards with three touchdowns and seven interceptions over a five-year career with the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, and Washington Redskins.
Matt Shaub is the clear-cut starter for the Texans, and T.J. Yates, the second-year quarterback who led the Texans down the stretch, is going to be Shaub’s backup.
The Texans also signed a local star by the name of Case Keenum. It seems as though John Beck will battle out for, and I would predict win, the third roster spot. The Texans will hope that Beck never has to play a snap, but he will still be a useful asset for the young gunslingers.
