According to multiple reports, Carolina Panthers starting running back Jonathan Stewart (ankle,toe) has been ruled out for Thursday Night Football’s game against the New York Giants. Stewart was limited in practice all week, and head coach Ron Rivera decided to rest him rather than risk another set-back.
The good news is that this report came out fairly early, so most owners should have plenty of time to bench Stewart. The Panthers don’t play again until the following Sunday in Week 4 so that should be plenty of time for Stewart to rest up and should be ready for the Atlanta Falcons. DeAngelo Williams will now see the bulk of the carries tonight.
