Josh Freeman Out, Josh Johnson to Start in Week 13

Fantasy Football

According to Adam Schefter via Twitter, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman will not play in week 13, due to a shoulder injury. Backup Josh Johnson will start against the Carolina Panthers, with recently activated Rudy Carpenter acting as the primary backup.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to rely on LeGarrette Blount and their rush offense against the Panthers, as Johnson draws his first start since 2009.

Fantasy Analysis

Johnson is an athletic quarterback who can make some plays, but the Panthers are so bad against the run, it would make no sense for Tampa Bay to throw more than 20 times in this one. Don’t expect big fantasy numbers through the air for the Buccaneers.
