Oklahoma’s Landry Jones Staying in School
According to Sooner Sports, Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones will not enter the 2012 NFL Draft, and will return for his senior season.
Jones, who is already Oklahoma’s all-time leading passer, likely would have been a top-15 pick in this year’s draft, and was widely regarded as a lock for the first round.
“I want to accomplish the goals that I set before I got here, and there is still a lot more to do,” Jones said. “I want to make sure I’ve exhausted every effort in that area. And I want to be a senior. I enjoy being at OU and with my teammates and look forward to graduating with the guys that were in my class when I got here.”
With Jones and USC’s Matt Barkley returning to school, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III now stand alone as the only two sure-fire first-round quarterbacks heading into the 2012 NFL Draft.
