Matt Cassel to Enter 2012 as Chiefs’ Starter
According to Adam Schefter via Twitter, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel will be the starting quarterback heading into training camp. Head Coach Romeo Crennel had already back Cassel as the starter in his press conference when he signed a deal to become the head coach.
Cassel lead the Chiefs to a 4-5 record before breaking his hand and missing the rest of the season. He finished with 1,713 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.
Fantasy Analysis
It was a disappointing year for Cassel in 2011, but he did lead the Chiefs to a playoff berth in 2010. There are plenty of other quarterbacks that are more worthy drafting than Cassel next year, especially with the weapons he has. Consider Cassel a No. 2 QB at best next season.
