Matt Forte to Start Against Cowboys
That dreaded high ankle sprain isn’t going to ruin Matt Forte‘s season, after all. According to FOX Sports‘ Jay Glazer via Twitter, Chicago Bears star running back Matt Forte will return from a one game absence and make the start against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
There has been speculation all week over whether or not Forte would play, but Forte has reportedly had a “great week” of practice, and is closer to 100% than originally thought. Forte sat out Chicago’s week three win over the St. Louis Rams after exiting the team’s week three game with an ankle injury.
Michael Bush started in place of Forte in week three, and ran for 55 yards and a touchdown in the win. Forte will make the start tonight, but will likely share the ball with Bush more than he normally would if he were completely 100% healthy.
Great news for owners who were in a rough spot heading into the MNF matchup, but take the “great news” with a grain of salt. Forte is good to go, but Bush is still a major touchdown vulture and Forte still isn’t quite 100%. The Cowboys aren’t the easiest matchup on the road, either. But with those red flags risen and torn down, you can freely start him and keep your fingers crossed that he shows up in a big way tonight. Both Forte and Bush carry decent Flex value tonight.
