Monday Night Football Fantasy Versus: Week 3
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been very un-Rodgers like through the first two weeks of the NFL season, but fantasy owners should not be concerned just yet. Sure he has thrown 2 interceptions in 2 weeks, and has been under constant duress having taken eight sacks and it doesn’t get any easier tonight against a very good Seattle Seahawks defense, but one would think he’s due for a break-out game.
Here is our Fantasy Versus Decision Maker for Monday Night Football:
Aaron Rodgers (Packers) vs. Russell Wilson (Seahawks)
As I mentioned above Seattle has a very underrated defense, as they are giving up the 5th fewest fantasy points to quarterback this season, but this is Aaron Rodgers we’re talking about.
After Green Bay’s defense was exposed by the 49ers in week 1, but in Thursdays game against the Bears they bounced back in a big way and shut down Jay Cutler. Wilson still has some growing pains to go through, so look for the Packers to stack the box and force the rookie to beat them through the air.
Big shocker here, Rodgers is your guy tonight.
Cedric Benson (Packers) vs. Marshawn Lynch (Seahawks)
Benson bounced back in week 2 with 116 total yards after having a rough go-around in week 1. It’s going to be tough sledding for Benson this week against the stingy run defense of Seattle.
Lynch should be ranked as a top 10 running back this week, and should see plenty of work early and often.
I’ll roll with Lynch Monday.
Greg Jennings (Packers) vs. Jordy Nelson (Packers)
Having missed last weeks game, Greg Jennings (groin) looks like he will be able to suit up in tonight’s game. If you have Jennings you’re probably starting him this week, but I like Nelson to have a bigger game versus Seattle.
Sidney Rice (Seahawks) vs. Randall Cobb (Packers)
I don’t know how you can trust Sidney Rice (knee) at all this week, as he did not practice Saturday and played in only 36 of 68 offensive snaps in week 2 versus Dallas.
Cobb is the safer play out of these two, I’ll take him.
Jermichael Finley (Packers) vs. Zach Miller (Seahawks) vs. Anthony McCoy (Seahawks)
Zach Miller (foot) is not fully healthy, and even though I’m not a believer in Finley, you still have to start him.
I’ll rank them Finley, McCoy, and Millers
Mason Crosby (Packers) vs. Steven Hauschka (Seahawks)
A top 5 kicker versus a kicker that had to be signed after their starting kicker got hurt. Crosby is your guy tonight.
Seattle Seahawks D/ST vs. Green Bay Packers D/ST
I like both of these defenses in tonight’s game, as both could end up in the top 10 when it’s all said and done.
Green Bay has the slight edge facing a rookie quarterback who hasn’t established a passing game yet. Green Bay gets the nod here.
