Morris Claiborne Appears To Be Vikings Top Player
The once widely expected pick of tackle Matt Kalil by the Minnesota Vikings at No. 3 may likely not happen. Instead, cornerback Morris Claiborne could be their guy.
According to Steve Wyche of NFL.com, a source with knowledge of the situation has said that “the Vikings are leaning towards drafting [Claiborne]” and that he “rated highest on their draft board.” The Vikings apparently like Claiborne over Kalil.
If that pick does indeed happen Thursday night, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise. In a division that features two of the league’s best passing attacks in the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, the Vikings surely need more help in the secondary to stay competitive against them.
