NFL Week 14 Injury Report: Big Names in Big Games
With every game being an important matchup – both in the NFL and your fantasy football league if you made the fantasy playoffs – teams’ fates often hang on who is in and who is out.
Here is a look at the NFL matchups and what impact injuries could have in our Week 14 fantasy football injury report:
- Ravens at Redskins
The Redskins are healthy with Pierre Garcon the only notable name on the list and he is probable. The Ravens D – which could get Ray Lewis back next week – should see safety Ed Reed (probable), but Terrell Suggs’s bicep issue with limited him in practice, is questionable.
Updated: Suggs is out, which should boost RG3 and other Redskins’ fantasy value quite a bit this week.
- Chiefs at Browns
Much like this game, there is not much to talk about on the injury report. The Chiefs have no injury at the skill positions (not that they have skill at the skill positions either). The Browns are healthy, without even as much as a doubtful on their list. Ten probable, so everyone is a go.
- Chargers at Steelers
Big Ben is back at the helm for the Steelers and TE Dante Rosario is probable after full practice for the Bolts.
- Titans at Colts
Jake Locker’s good to go; while Donald Brown has been ruled out for Indy, giving running back Vick Ballard all the reps in the back-field.
- Jets at Jaguars
So Tim Tebow’s a game-time decision with his ribs. Head coach Rex Ryan is no longer hot for the idea of 3 active QBs, so the controversy here is actually Tebow vs. Greg McElroy. We think Tebow sits. The Jets, it should be noted, have 23 players on the injury report (plus those guys name Revis and Holmes on IR). Jags are without RBs MJD and Rashad Jennings plus WR Cecil Shorts following his concussion.
Update: Tebow is the active #2 behind Mark Sanchez, and Greg McElory is inactive. This should make for an interesting scene in Tebow’s own backyard as the Jets travel to Jacksonville.
- Bears at Vikings
You’ve heard the big new that Percy Harvin is out. For. The. Season. Big news for the Vikes and/or your fantasy team. The Bears welcome back WRs Devin Hester and Alshon Jeffery while CB Tim Jennings and middle linebacker Brian Urlacher are out.
- Falcons at Panthers
RB Michael Turner is questionable, but Jacquizz Rodgers stands to get a long look either way; Panthers WR Brandon LaFell is questionable and RB Jonathan Stewart is doubtful.
Update: Turner is active and will start. He’ll get early work and goal-line carries. He’s still a better fantasy option than Jacquizz Rodgers. For Carolina, LaFell and Stewart have both been ruled out.
- Eagles at Bucs
RB LeSean McCoy is out again and, as you know, QB Mike Vick is also out; for the Bucs, WR Vincent Jackson is probable with a calf injury.
- Rams at Bills
Wideout Danny Amendola is a game time decision with a heel injury; Steven Jackson is probable at RB; Bills’ WR Steve Johnson is questionable after limited practice; RB CJ Spiller is probable.
Update: Amendola has been ruled out. Chris Givens stands to put up big numbers once again as the team’s top receiving option. For Buffalo, Stevie Johnson will play, as he is listed as active.
- Cowboys at Bengals
Cowboys’ RBs DeMarco Murray and Felix Jones are both probable, as well as WR Miles Austin. AJ Green was sick during the week, but is probable for the Bengals; TE Jermaine Gresham is probable with a hamstring issue.
Update: Murray, Jones and Austin will all play, as expected. Gresham and Green are also active.
- Dolphins at 49ers
Dolphins are healthy; SF looks to be without Mario Manningham, who did not practice for a few days. Frank Gore is probable – nothing to see here.
- Saints at Giants
The Saints check out without any notable injuries; Giants WR Hakeem Nicks is (of course) questionable. WR Domenik Hixon and RB Ahmad Bradshaw are both probable.
Update: Nicks is expected to play against the Saints.
- Cardinals at Seahawks
The Cards have lots of question(able)s including WR Andre Roberts; RB Beanie Wells and QB Kevin Kolb, all of whom were limited in practice. Big names for Seattle check out ok as RB Marshawn Lynch and WR Sidney Rice are both probable.
- Lions at Packers
Lions check out ok; But the Packers’ LB Clay Matthews, WR Jordy Nelson and RB James Starks are all out as they try to get healthy for the post season.
- Texans at Patriots
Of course TE Rob Gronkowski is out for the Pats; WRs Brandon Lloyd and Wes Welker are questionable; the Texans list RB Ben Tate as questionable.
