Packers Release Long-Time Tackle Chad Clifton

Chad Clifton has likely played his final snaps as a member of the Green Bay Packers, and could possibly have played the last of his career too.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter via his Twitter account, Clifton will be released from the Packers on Monday. Clifton reportedly failed a team physical, with offseason back surgery being a reason for doing so. He had also missed several games over the past few seasons due to injury.

Clifton has spent his entire 12-year career with the Packers, being a two-time Pro Bowl selection. He was also part of the team’s Super Bowl XLV victory.
