St. Louis Rams to Part Ways With Titus Young

Titus Young, we hardly knew thee. That’s what St. Louis Rams fans could be saying to the former Detroit Lions wide receiver, according to reports. Yes, believe it or not, rumors are swirling that the Rams will cut Young just 10 days after claiming him off of waivers from the Lions.
There is no concrete information as to why the two sides may part of if there is any validity to the rumor itself. According to reports, Rob Parker has already declared that Young will be waived on Friday (again), but nothing official has been made known, while the Rams and Young’s agent have declined to comment.
They’re declining to comment; not shooting the rumors down.
If Young indeed gets placed on waivers for the second time in less than two weeks, it surely paints an ugly picture for his NFL future. While immensely talented, Young could be looking at early retirement at just 23 years old. He still has the talent to be an effective starting wide receiver, but if these rumors hold up it won’t be St. Louis where he continues on his career.
While initially seen as a major steal due to his talent and upside, Young’s potential departure could once again have the Rams looking at the wide receiver position with one of their two first round draft selections. It would also put further emphasis on trying to retain free agent slot man, Danny Amendola.
Update: The release is official. Young has been waived by the Rams after under-going an extensive “interview” process. Clearly, the Rams were not impressed.
