Ravens Lose Terrell Suggs For 2012 With Torn Achilles

The Baltimore Ravens just got dealt a significant blow to their 2012 Super Bowl hopes.

According to 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore, defensive end Terrell Suggs will miss the entire 2012 NFL season due to a torn Achilles tendon he reportedly suffered while playing in a pickup basketball game.

Fortunately for the Ravens, they did draft pass-rushing specialist Courtney Upshaw. However, they will have to scramble to figure out how to replace Suggs’s imposing presence on the field, his leadership, and the 14 sacks and seven forced fumbles he recorded last year.

Baltimore made a run to the AFC title game last year backed by Suggs’s spirited play, but now may face an uphill battle without one of their star defensive play-makers suiting up for the entire season.

Upshaw figures to be in the mix to replace Suggs, while Paul Kruger and Sergio Kindle are also candidates to see reps in Suggs’s place.
