Saturday Night Football Fantasy Versus | Week 15
We get a special treat in week 15, as the Dallas Cowboys travel to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday Night Football. It might not be the sexiest matchup the NFL had in mind when they scheduled this game, as the Cowboys seem to be the superior team.
While Tampa Bay is out of the playoff race, Dallas will try to stop their two game losing streak and get back into the playoffs. This game also has plenty of fantasy players that you’ll be counting on this week, as you look to further your fantasy team in the playoffs.
We’ll try to help you out this week with our Week 15 Saturday Night Football Fantasy Versus column:
Tony Romo (Cowboys) vs. Josh Freeman (Tampa Bay)
While the Cowboys are struggling as a team right now, Tony Romo has not been struggling for fantasy owners this season. Now that Romo has his top play-makers healthy, look for another solid week from Romo. Freeman entered this season with high hopes after a solid year in 2011, but has been ineffective and often injured. Romo is the obvious play here.
Felix Jones (Cowboys) vs. LeGarrette Blount (Tampa Bay)
With DeMarco Murray out for the rest of the season, Jones will now be the feature back this week and going forward. Jones has the easier match-up this week, as the Buccaneers are giving up the most fantasy points to running backs this season. One thing we know for sure is that Blount will get the start this week, other than that it’s a crap shoot. Dallas’ run D is better than people think, go with Jones this week.
Miles Austin (Cowboys) vs. Dez Bryant (Cowboys) vs. Laurent Robinson (Cowboys) vs. Mike Williams (Tampa Bay)
Miles Austin played his first game since week 9 after missing the last four games, and he picked up right where he left off with 63 yards receiving and one touchdown. Bryant has been hit or miss all year long and he got lucky last week with his only catch being a 50 yard touchdown. Robinson has been the most consistent of the three Cowboys receivers in recent weeks. Williams has been a huge disappointment this season, but with inconsistent quarterback play, it hasn’t been entirely his fault.
Out of these four guys I’ll go Austin, Robinson, Bryant, Williams
Jason Witten (Cowboys) vs. Kellen Winslow (Tampa Bay)
Winslow has been racking up decent yardage, but can’t seem to find the end zone this season. Witten is one of the better tight ends in the NFL and goes up against a team that gives up the 9th most fantasy points to tight ends this year. Go with Witten, as I think he gets a touchdown this week, which will put him over the top.
Dan Bailey (Cowboys) vs. Connor Barth (Tampa Bay)
Two bad misses for Bailey in the past two weeks, but he still ranks second among kickers in fantasy points. Barth has only missed two field goals this season, but you’re still rolling with Bailey.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Dallas has the better match-up this week, as the Buccaneers are giving up the second most fantasy points to opposing defenses in the past five weeks. It’s not even close, Dallas is the choice.
