Tom Brady’s Wife Gisele Bundchen Goes Off on Patriots’ Receivers

New England Patriots

It was bad enough for New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady that he didn’t have his best game, his receivers dropped some passes, and his team didn’t win Super Bowl XLVI. Brady took the loss especially hard, reportedly sitting at his locker looking down with a towel over his head for several moments.

Then his wife, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, called out her husband’s receivers after the game for their dropped passes. While being led through the hallways where the suites are located to leave and go see her husband, New York Giants fans were heckling her about the game (understandable) and saying things such as, “Eli owns your husband!”

The fans eventually got to her, and that’s when she responded loudly, saying, “My husband cannot f—ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.” The video of this incident is here.

It’s not like anything personal or uncalled for was being directed towards her–that’s just how sports fans are, especially when your favorite team beats a quarterback with a supermodel wife that is as highly publicized as they are in the biggest game of the year.

What makes matters worse, at least for Brady, is that this outburst by Gisele won’t sit well with the other players and their wives. According to Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun Times, a veteran team staffer for the Patriots said, “Gisele may have had a point, but she should have left it to the sportswriters and other Monday morning quarterbacks. She already is not liked by many players and their wives due to her arrogant attitude. This sure won’t help improve things.”

Zwecker’s article goes on and talks about how some wives are jealous of Gisele because of her looks and multi-million dollar job as a supermodel. That is also understandable, but if the report of her being “openly snotty to several of them” then shame on her, especially when you’re the wife of the team’s quarterback, who’s the captain and face of the franchise.

If the claim that Brady wasn’t happy about her outburst is true as well, then he really needs to have a talk with his wife about the things she should say publicly, and the things she should keep private until the two of them are alone together in their $20 million mansion. I doubt Brady would want soon-to-be free agent Wes Welker, who has already tearfully blamed himself for his drop late in the game, to sign with another team because of comments Gisele made (or unless he gets a better offer somewhere).

Good teammates stick together and defend each other no matter what. The wives of those good teammates need to do the same. Keep the bashing comments to yourself or save them for a private conversation. Let us sports writers criticize Welker for his two-handed drop that would’ve surely put the Patriots in position to run down the clock and seal a Super Bowl victory.

Surely someone should point out that the Giants fans showed some of the very worst sportsmanship ever. They should be taken to the woodshed.

Good for you Tom,you have a wife who will stand up for her man. Obviously she knows more about the game than the idiot heckler. That game was by no means a route, and again Gisele is correct, you cant throw AND catch the ball. As a Bears fan i had no stake in the game (except for the nfc vs afc) but you played one hell of a game. No one owns Tom Brady except Gisele! Again, my hats off to her- Go girl!

Pure baloney. Brady's wife needs to get her head out of her butt as she just made trouble for the Pats. Gisele…….you are just a poor loser, and NE should throw u out of the state.

      • john

She is a poor loser for sure. And we will wait to see if the other players respond to her comments and stop playing well for tom, It happens the players will stand together and tom will be gone. All because of the halfbaked comment some broad made..

As I read what everyone writing down I get sick to my stomach. If this was a Black women the first thing everyone would have said SHE IS A ANGER BLACK WOMEN even our BLACK BROTHERS. It’s so sad because she is white, she can say what she want while the whole world say she a wife who will stand up for her man. It’s a time and place for everything that was not the time or place and I don’t care what color you are THAT WAS WRONG.

Jim, I agree that it's nice that she stepped up. But from a business perspective, that's bad news. She has now pissed off every wife of every NE Patriots player and that's going to get back to the actual players, and right back to the team. There's a place and a time to step up for what you believe, and that just wasn't one of the times because it's not her reputation that she has affected negatively… It's her husband's and her husband's employer. The good news is that her husband is a former Super Bowl MVP and a future Hall of Famer QB, so he won't have to face any repercussions, but imagine if this were just a regular joe schmoe trying to establish himself as a starter and his wife made comments like this?

Don't blame Tom and Gisele, they lost as a team and win as team,Every body jealousy because Tom Brady good a quarterback and Gisele a good model, they work hard for what they have right know.

    • john

Yes I agree it's a team. However she should of been a professional like Tom and the others, How would she feel if tom went with her on a photo shoot and said something as stupid as that regaurding the other models! Not her place and not her finest moment

  5. Zach

I would have said the same thing, She is only human people.

    • Susie

I would have said the same thing also. The media just loves bashing Tom Brady if he looses. And I said to my husband even before Gisele's outburst that Brady can't play the whole game by himself. His team mates need to step up and help him out. I do hope that Gisele apologizes to Walken as Tom Brady is a class act football player. When you are in the moment of upset and the crazy fans and media say things like the one fan did "Eli owns your husband" of course anybody would go off. I would… Nobody owns Brady. He is his OWN man and a classy one at that. He is still number one in my books !!!!!!

  6. blah

Well I would say the same thing jig someone came up to me and told me that. Dude I was so angry after that game I can't imagine how she felt

All I got to say is Go Giants Blue is for you, Hey Tom Brady the Giants might need a relief cheerleader, you should put in a application. How do you look in a skirt?

    • Hah

Hey John…your comment is as low as the comments said to Tom's wife. All I can say is it does not look good for Giants fans. Notice there was nothing about the Patriots fans in the news….So who are the poor sports even though they one?

  8. @NFLSoupKevin

She's the wife of the losing quarterback. I highly doubt Welker and the other guys will be offended. She spoke the truth immediately after a devastating loss, and Welker himself said he blew it. While Welker's drop was huge, I'm actually putting most of the blame on Deion Branch. He dropped the pass right after Welker's drop, and also dropped one on the final drive of the game that would have easily gotten him 30+ yards and changed the way that game ended.

  9. Lisa

Personally I think the comment was way out of line. At least Welker took responsibility for his drop. When is Brady going to step up and take responsibility for the intentional grounding at the start of the game. Without that safety it would have been a 2 point game & the Patriots would have only needed a field goal to win the game. It irritates me that he is not taking any responsibility at all!!

Hey this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

It says something for Charlie Bronson’s notoriety, that ex-world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson actually committed he is title belt to to him. In return, Bronson gifted Mike a pewter replica of his jail door. Not 100 % size of course.
