Week 15 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Go Get David Wilson!

Cleveland Browns

Weeden could be an interesting play against a soft Redskins pass defense.

Thursday Night Football kicks off week 15 of the fantasy football season, which means your fantasy playoffs are just finally starting, or are getting closer to a finish. Hopefully you’re in a good spot in your tournament, but if you’re feeling shaky, maybe a trip to the waiver wire can help ease the nerves.

If you haven’t already, check out these hot waiver wire adds that could help bolster your roster in an attempt to claim your league’s title:

Brandon Weeden, QB, Cleveland Browns (Available in 87% of leagues)

Weeden can be a sketchy play at times, but he’s also had some fantastic moments as a rookie. This week he faces a bad Redskins pass defense, so he has loads of potential to help you in your playoff run.

Beanie Wells, RB, Arizona Cardinals (56%)

I don’t trust the Cardinals offense a whole lot, either, but Wells is still the team’s top back and they face a Lions defense that can be run on. Wells is still a TD threat who should get 10-15 carries at a minimum if all goes well. At this point I’d only want to lean on him as a Flex, but he does have potential entering week 15.

Alex Green, RB, Green Bay Packers (71%)

As you can see, the running back position is painfully thin on the waiver wire. Green is another Flex play, as he’s a locked for 10+ touches. He actually ran pretty well last week, and could find success again facing a Bears defense that is missing Brian Urlacher in week 15.

Montell Owens, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars (74%)

I wasn’t high on Owens going into last week, but he shocked me with 101 total yards and a score. He remains the starter this week and should be in line for a solid role again. He has solid Flex value, even against a pretty tough Miami run D.

*Wild Card* David Wilson, RB, New York Giants (40%)

Wilson is fresh off a 300+ total yard day in week 14, and could be in for a huge workload if Ahmad Bradshaw (knee) has to sit out. It’s a big game for the Giants and a big game for you. He doesn’t meet our usual 51% availability code, but Wilson had to be plugged. He needs to be owned in all leagues right now.

Greg Little, WR, Cleveland Browns (75%)

Little is usually a shaky play, but this week he draws a weak Redskins pass defense. I’d rather own Josh Gordon, but Little is also a guy you may want to use in the WR3 or Flex spot if you’re desperate.

Jon Baldwin, WR, Kansas City Chiefs (96%)

Normally I wouldn’t breathe in Baldwin’s direction, but Dwayne Bowe is out this week and the Raiders are a solid matchup. Baldwin is a shot in the dark with some potential this week, as he has great size and nice athleticism.

Dennis Pitta, TE, Baltimore Ravens (82%)

Pitta is pretty hit or miss, but I like his chances this week. Look for the Broncos to try to take away Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin, with Pitta ending with 4-5 catches and a score.

Mike Nugent/Josh Brown, K, Cincinnati Bengals (85%)

The Bengals face a hapless Eagles defense this week, so whichever kicker is a go for the Bengals should be a solid play. Brown filled in for Nugent last week, so be sure to check who is the likely play before picking one of these guys up.

Miami Dolphins DEF/ST (63%)

I’m mildly worried about a Chad Henne return ending in a crazy 500+ yard passing day or something ridiculous like that, but on paper this is a great matchup for the Dolphins. They’ve been steady and reliable for most of the year, so they’re probably your safest bet on the wire right now. The San Diego Chargers and Cleveland Browns could also be worth a look if Miami is not available.
