Who to Play in Week 5: Domenik Hixon vs. Ramses Barden
It seems even more likely that New York Giants‘ star wide receiver Hakeem Nicks will spend another week inactive. The combination of the knee and foot injuries he’s been hampered with have not come along as hoped. So the Giants’ pass heavy attack will showcase some dpth chart movers. Here’s how that chart breaks down.
Domenik Hixon will be the most reliable out of all Giants wideouts on the depth chart. In replacing Nicks against the Eagles, Hixon had 11 targets and 6 receptions for 114 yards. Solid replacement stats. If you have Hakeem Nicks and need a replacement then Hixon should fill in nicely. He also has a fantastic matchup vs. the Browns this week.
Further on the wide receiver depth chart we have Ramses Barden and Rueben Randle. Barden is being ruled out with a concussion so you need not worry about him for this week. He will not be available. Randle, on the other hand, has had minimal playing time and targets. He only has 1 reception for 4 yards on the season. Though I’m not endorsing Randle as a pickup I am going to label him as noteworthy. Keep an eye on him. He could get some time and touches this week against Cleveland. If he does, and Nicks stays inactive, he could challenge Hixon for time and become a waiver watch.
No doubt, Hixon is the guy to replace Nicks for the Giants. If you need a WR3 or flex play he should put up decent numbers for you in the Giants pass attack. I’d would think Hixon gets 6 receptions, 120 yards and a TD this week against the Browns.
